Although I’m not exactly leaping like the guy in this photo, I am coping well with this first round of chemotherapy.
Mark has been my constant companion, taking care of all my needs. I’ve had some deep fatigue and some pain due to the injection that forces my bones to make white blood cells, but overall I have done very well. Today I got dressed, changed my sheets and took a good long walk – which was impossible last time. I will visit my doctor Wednesday for a check up.
We missed the XO conference (sad) but heard our Ashley Greenwood did a great job. (Mom brag!)
I can’t resist showing the beautiful flowers that have been arriving. Mark gave me these lush roses for Valentine’s Day. We had a really nice day together. He also cooked an amazing dinner of shrimp, steak and asparagus. I think this is our 36th celebration of Valentine’s. (Ahhh – it’s a long-term love affair.)
I clipped these beautiful wild buttercups (or daffodils) from my driveway in the back. They grow wild in the middle of a mess of brush. These early bloomers always make me smile – and they smell beautiful too.
And then just as I was feeling a little low, this gorgeous bouquet showed up from my friends Joni and Marcus Lamb. They are over the top beautiful.
One more amazing gift – I got a personal phone call from Dodie Osteen.
I can hardly believe it! Miss Dodie is a huge inspiration to me as she has her own story of cancer and healing that totally rocked my world in 2009. (Here is her video testimony. From this site you can also print her healing scriptures. I pasted these all over my home and declared them over myself day after day.)
I recently shared about receiving an autographed copy of her book, Healed of Cancer and it’s my number one resource listed here on the blog as a recommended resource. She left me a phone message so I can listen over and over to her authoritative voice telling cancer to leave and for healing to arise. Jesus never changes!
Dinner arrived last week, once from my Pink team and once from Sarah Tieman (with the prophetic team). Thank you sweet friends.
While I’ve been mostly lying around…(remember this?)I’ve been receiving many sweet notes of encouragement. (Which I love and never grow tired of.)
I got an especially encouraging note from Pastor Debbie Morris this week. She always makes me feel all things are possible. She greeted this recent round of treatment with her typical confidence and sent me this Scripture this week. It reminded me that endless energy and boundless strength are mine. I will rise again.
“That’s why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the followers of Jesus, I couldn’t stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I’d think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!”

In the midst of many troubles, I am deeply loved. Thank you for your continued prayers and expressions of support. Your prayers are working a great victory in my body and I am blessed beyond measure.

I praise God for the awesome things he is doing in her life right now. I’m reading a book right now that I believe would bless you. “Fight Back with Joy” Margaret Feinberg. I wanted more Joy in my life and saw her on Daystar she is a cancer survivor but I mainly wanted to activate my Joy on a much stronger level. I think you would relate to much of what she says. Be blessed. While your resting and healing be blessed with a awesome testimony of God’s faithfulness.
